2010 Pre-Season Testing
A successful pre-season testing came to an end for the JC Racing Team on a sunny but chilly evening at Oulton Broad. Team driver Julian Codling seemed right at home in the new 250cc powered Trombetta hull that was purchased during the close season.
Pre-season testing began at Stewartby lakes in late March and it was the first opportunity the team had to show off the brand new Trombetta hydroplane. Testing went better than expected with 250cc GRM engine powering the Carbon Composite Trombetta hydroplane around the lake quicker than the JC Racing Team had lapped before in any other outfit they had competed with.
The Team were lucky enough to have the opportunity to do some testing on the continent and ventured off to Italy for a weekend at San Nazzuro. Once again the 250cc outfit performed beyond expectations with team driver Julian Codling hitting speeds well into the high 90mph's.
With the outfit performing well on the longer circuits it was time to find out if it would handle the tight Wherry buoy at Oulton Broad, the turn that had proved problematic at times for the team during 2009. The evening at Oulton Broad went well with some good propeller testing undertaken in preparation for the first round of the National Championship.
Lapping in the low fourty seconds around the tight Oulton Broad circuit was a good way for the team to end pre-season testing with hopefully an exciting season of local, national, and international racing to lie ahead.
