2010 National Championship: Round 1 (Rescheduled)
After the teams recent success on the international stage it was back to the national championship series with the rescheduled meeting at Oulton Broad. Team driver Julian Codling took maximum points with three race wins to increase the teams lead in the championship series with one round remaining.

Time Trials
With numerous different engine sizes running in the national championships it was decided after time trials that Wayne Turner in the VRP 125cc Trombetta outfit would complete six laps. The 250/350cc GRM hydroplane outfits of Julian Codling, Nigel Edwards, Paul Jillings and Kevin Turner would do seven laps, while the powerful 500cc GRM powered hydrocat of Matthew Lockwood would complete eight laps of the Oulton Broad circuit
Race 1
As the lights went out the JC Racing team made one of their usual quick starts as all the boats flew away from the jetty and headed up to the first turn. Having the clear water out in front team driver Julian set about making up the extra lap on the 125cc outfit of Wayne Turner with some quick lap times.
With a lap remaining Julian was able to catch and pass Wayne and brought the JC Racing Team their first race win of the day with Paul Jillings taking an impressive second place and Wayne Turner holding onto third place from the 500cc outfit of Matthew Lockwood.
Race 2
The second race was put on the short course due to the high tide at Oulton Broad and once again Julian got an impressive start. This time however the 500cc outfit of Matt Lockwood was the one to watch with more laps on the short course meant the tight turning hydrocat soon caught up with the rest of the hydroplane outfits as the race concluded.
On the run into the chequered flag it was Julian who just held off the 500cc hydrocat of Matt Lockwood with Wayne Turner finishing third with the 125cc hydroplane outfit.
Race 3
With the tide now going down at Oulton Broad the racing was reverted back onto the long course. As the lights went off the 250cc engine of the JC Racing team failed to start first time round so as the remaining boats headed up to the top turn Julian was only just starting.
With water conditions nearly perfect, Julian was able to make up the time with some impressive lap times and as he, Wayne Turner and Matthew Lockwood all exited the last turn together it was a run into the line with Julian just being able to catch Wayne on the line to take the teams third win of the day with Matt Lockwood finishing a close third.
After the race the JC Racing Team found out they had broken the 250cc lap record at Oulton Broad with a time of 38.94 seconds.
Race 4
With a maximum three wins from three races Julian did not need to compete in the final heat so it was left for Wayne Turner to take the final race win.
Overall Result
With three first place finishes, Julian gave the team maximum points as they move into the final round of the championship at Stewartby Lakes. Second on the day was Wayne Turner with third going to Matt Lockwood.

After the teams recent success on the international stage, the team and close friends from the Area 31 Racing team thought team driver Julian deserved a traditional dunking into the broad to celebrate.
