After an initial season of learning in 2005, the JC Racing Team returned in 2006 with the same Mostes hull painted in the now recognizable green and black colour scheme, and was powered by 350cc Konig and Konny engines.
Once again Julian and the team spent the season predominantly competing on the local circuit at Oulton Broad, continuing to learn with the help and experience of mechanic David Jones who has raced hydroplanes since the 1970's.
2006 turned out to be a fantastic season for the JC Racing Team on the local circuit with driver Julian winning some of the most prestigious trophies that the Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Motorboat Club hydroplane drivers race for.
Firstly Julian claimed the renowned King of the Broad trophy with three race wins out of three thanks to some impressive and impeccable driving around the Oulton Broad circuit.
Julian then added the historic Daily Mirror Group handicap trophy to the teams collection by holding off the challenge from the likes of Keith McVeigh, Peter Rix and David Jones, all who had over thirty years racing experience each.
With consistently strong results week in week out and fantastic reliability from the 350cc Konny and Konig engines , the icing on the cake for the JC Racing Team was seeing driver Julian crowned the Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club Hydroplane Champion for 2006, beating the ever impressive 2005 champion, Tony Knights on the last meeting of the season.
